About the Service
The purpose of Tyneside Pregnancy Advice Centre (TPAC) is to provide support, information, advice and early, limited, non-diagnostic ultrasound scanning for women with unplanned pregnancy. We do not refer for abortions.
TPAC is run by a Newcastle-based charity, set up by a group of local doctors. We have a team of trained advisors, including staff qualified in early pregnancy ultrasound.
Tyneside Pregnancy Advice Centre is ideally located to serve Newcastle, Gateshead and the wider areas of Tyneside, Northumberland and Durham.
What we offer your patients:

Space to think
we offer free and confidential appointments for women to talk about, and think through, their situations

Telephone Helpline
for women to make initial contact, book an appointment and discuss concerns.

Information and advice
relating to pregnancy, parenting, abortion and adoption – ensuring women are able to make well-informed decisions.

Support
ongoing emotional and practical care for women and their families.

Ultrasound scanning
women can request a non-diagnostic, limited obstetric ultrasound scan.

Appropriate referrals
for complications or uncertainty about viability, our trained advisors will make sure that women are referred to the right place in a timely manner. We do not offer referral for abortion.

Health Professionals or Client Referrals: phone 0191 239 99 33 during our opening hours to book an appointment.
Outside of office hours messages can be left on our answerphone. Clients can also ring themselves, and we will call them back.
Who to refer
Please refer any pregnant woman who could benefit from the service we offer. Concerned family members, partners or friends are also very welcome.
